Job summary
This role is for an experienced and highly organized Logistics Manager to join a consultancy environment in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The position is centered on managing logistics operations, coordinating supply chain activities, and handling vendor relationships to support smooth delivery for clients. The right candidate will bring strong planning, analytical ability, and leadership skills, along with the capability to work across teams while keeping operations efficient and cost-conscious.
Role overview
The Logistics Manager will oversee logistics activities across projects so that materials, equipment, permits, documents, and support services are delivered on time and in line with project schedules and PMC requirements. The role involves regular follow-up with consultants and other stakeholders to track pending actions, approvals, and delays, while helping maintain steady project progress. It also includes reviewing submissions from consultants, including logistics plans, to confirm they are complete, compliant, and aligned with project needs. The position requires managing logistics plans, reporting status, escalating risks when needed, and making sure project procedures, client expectations, and regulatory requirements are met. In addition, the manager will support project teams by keeping records accurate, coordinating meetings and communications, and proactively handling logistics dependencies to prevent disruption.
Responsibilities
- Handle logistics operations from start to finish, including procurement, inventory control, and distribution across several client assignments.
- Create and put into action logistics plans that improve supply chain performance and lower operating costs.
- Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and service providers to secure on-time delivery and required quality levels.
- Monitor stock levels, warehouse activity, and inventory handling to reduce waste and use resources effectively.
- Guide, support, and develop logistics team members through coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities.
- Review logistics data and performance indicators to spot trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities to improve processes.
- Manage budgets and financial projections for logistics work while staying within approved spending limits.
- Maintain compliance with local laws, safety standards, and internal company policies in all logistics operations.
- Prepare reports and presentations on logistics performance for senior leaders and clients.
- Partner with project managers and consultants to understand client expectations and tailor logistics solutions accordingly.
- Address operational issues and apply corrective measures to protect service quality and client satisfaction.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of experience in logistics management, supply chain operations, or a similar area.
- Strong background in logistics delivery within a consultancy or professional services setting.
- Solid knowledge of supply chain management, vendor coordination, and inventory improvement.
- Hands-on experience with logistics software, ERP platforms, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving ability, including the capacity to work with complex data.
- Proven leadership experience in managing and developing logistics teams.
- Strong project management capability and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of logistics regulations, compliance standards, and international shipping practices.
- Good command of Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
- Preferred: exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methods.
- Preferred: familiarity with international logistics and cross-border operations.
- Preferred: experience in risk management and business continuity planning.
