Laundry Valet

Role Overview

This position supports housekeeping and laundry operations in a luxury hotel environment. The role focuses on processing guest and linen items through washing, dry cleaning, drying, folding, and delivery workflows while upholding the brand’s standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.

Key Duties

• Run and supervise washing, dry-cleaning, and drying equipment, including the use of cleaning agents and lint removal.
• Check garments and linens for stains or damage and decide whether they should be repaired, spot-treated, rewashed, or discarded.
• Review items after laundering to confirm cleanliness before placing them into clean linen carts.
• Set dryer time and temperature settings according to the fabric type in each load.
• Clear lint, residue, and debris from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after every cycle.
• Fold finished items by hand or with folding equipment into the required size.
• Keep clear and accurate records of all items processed through the laundry operation.

• Comply with all company safety and security rules, and immediately report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to a manager.
• Complete required safety training and any certifications assigned.
• Follow company policies and maintain a neat, professional appearance at all times.
• Protect confidential information and safeguard company property.
• Build positive relationships with coworkers and contribute to team objectives.
• Respond respectfully to concerns raised by other team members.
• Maintain quality standards and look for practical ways to improve efficiency, productivity, safety, quality, and cost control.
• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects or problems.
• Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including a full shift if needed.
• Handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Work in narrow, confined, or elevated spaces and move across uneven, sloped, or slippery surfaces, including stairs and service ramps.
• Reach above shoulder level and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.
