Lab Tech (m/w/d)

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out core laboratory procedures and data collection with confidence, and assess results for overall quality and consistency.
• Operate standard lab equipment such as PCR instruments, microtomes, and bench centrifuges, and handle minor troubleshooting.
• Perform assigned work strictly according to defined protocols.
• Review raw data for accuracy and consistency.
• Use Microsoft Excel for basic statistical analysis and visual presentation of data.
• Convert units of measurement and prepare chemical solutions and buffers as needed.
• Manage several tasks at the same time, often at different stages of processing.
• Support junior team members when required.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date laboratory notebook to document work.
• Work within a regulated GCP environment using a Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS).
• Help with general lab upkeep such as cleaning freezers, shared areas, and equipment, and restocking common reagents and consumables.
• Contribute to setting up new assays and equipment during validation activities.
• Protect the confidentiality of personal data belonging to patients, colleagues, and all company contacts.
• Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the company and its operations.
• Take on additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as BTA, CTA, MTLA, or an equivalent qualification, or a bachelor’s degree in the life sciences.
• Strong attention to detail and a clear commitment to quality in both hands-on lab work and documentation.
• Excellent laboratory skills, including reliable pipetting technique and strong documentation and procedural discipline in clinical, sterile, or molecular settings depending on lab needs.
• Initial experience in converting units and preparing chemical solutions and buffers.
• Ability to understand protocols and execute them reliably, demonstrated through prior laboratory experience.
• Basic knowledge of, or experience with, laboratory equipment and analyses such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, and NGS.
• Very good spoken and written communication skills in German and English.
