Role Summary

The Junior Quantity Surveyor will assist with cost planning, quantity measurement, and financial monitoring for concrete supply and related construction work. The position includes helping prepare quotations, estimates, and bills of quantities, while also monitoring material consumption and comparing project expenses with approved budgets. You will work alongside site supervisors, project managers, and clients to confirm quantities, track changes, and support progress claims and reporting. Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of quantity surveying, construction economics, and cost estimating, ideally backed by a diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Ability to take measurements and calculate quantities from drawings and site data, along with a working knowledge of construction techniques and materials, especially concrete and aggregates.
  • Comfort using spreadsheets and other digital tools for cost tracking and reporting, with strong numerical precision and a careful eye for detail.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills for working with site teams, suppliers, and clients, and for preparing straightforward reports and records.
  • Well-developed organizational and time-management abilities, including the capacity to handle priorities, meet deadlines, and stay effective in a busy site setting.
  • Readiness to learn, follow direction from senior staff, observe safety rules, and maintain professional behavior on site and during client dealings.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to sites in and around Bulawayo when needed.
  • Previous internship or entry-level exposure to quantity surveying or construction is helpful but not required.
