Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated graphic designer who can excel in a busy, deadline-sensitive environment where priorities can shift quickly. In this role, you will partner with the Design Director, Art Directors, and other designers to build strategic marketing campaign assets that communicate the brand story across several brand identities.
As a member of the Brand Design team, you will produce creative work across many formats, such as packaging, print, digital, point-of-sale, social media, sales collateral, websites, and animation. The position calls for a flexible, hands-on designer with a strong social-first perspective, excellent typography and brand design ability, and a commitment to growing motion graphics and video editing skills.
Responsibilities
- Create marketing and brand assets across print, digital, packaging, point-of-sale, social, and animation formats.
- Develop several design directions that respond to or exceed creative briefs while working with designers and brand managers for ongoing feedback.
- Design with a social-first approach, including editing and enhancing photo and video content so it performs well on social platforms and matches platform requirements.
- Produce foundational motion graphics, animation, and video edits, while continuing to strengthen these capabilities.
- Handle several projects for multiple brands at the same time and keep digital files organized and up to date.
- Maintain consistent branding across all deliverables while working across multiple identities.
- Move projects through the full design lifecycle, make revisions, prepare new versions, and hand off final assets to Production according to production standards.
- Apply state-specific rules and regulatory requirements to all materials.
- Participate actively in creative discussions by asking questions, offering ideas, and helping the team solve problems together.
- Keep up with current design trends, digital content practices, and emerging tools, including AI-based tools, to keep work fresh and competitive.
Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of practical graphic design experience, preferably in an agency, design studio, or in-house marketing/brand environment.
- Strong command of typography and brand design, supported by a portfolio showing a broad range of styles and executions.
- Working knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and video editing using Adobe After Effects or similar tools, with interest in growing further in this area.
- A social-first design mindset and experience creating content tailored for social media platforms.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, plus comfort using AI tools inside and outside Adobe applications.
- Intermediate skill level in Figma, After Effects or comparable motion/VFX software, Microsoft applications, and project management tools.
- Ability to manage multiple brand projects simultaneously while staying detail-oriented and meeting deadlines.
- Experience in consumer goods and retail design is preferred.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with limited day-to-day supervision.
- Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Self-driven, proactive, and adaptable in a lean, fast-moving organization.
- A bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Interest in cannabis culture is a plus, and a willingness to learn state-specific cannabis regulations is required.
Additional Information
This role is suited to someone who enjoys being deeply involved in the design process rather than focusing only on production or operating at an art director level. You should be comfortable working in an environment where workloads shift frequently and multiple projects may move at once. The job also involves aligning creative output with state-specific compliance requirements, and familiarity with cannabis culture is advantageous.
Working Style
The position requires close collaboration with internal creative partners while also demanding independent ownership of assignments. A successful candidate will be organized, adaptable, and eager to continue building both technical and creative capabilities.
