Job Summary
The Junior Accountant will help the finance team keep records accurate, handle day-to-day transactions, support reporting, and contribute to month-end and year-end accounting work. This opportunity suits a meticulous person who wants to build a long-term path in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Log routine financial transactions and keep the general ledger updated.
- Handle both payables and receivables processing.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and balance checks.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Create invoices, payment vouchers, and journal entries.
- Keep financial records complete and well-supported with documents.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
- Track overdue receivables and follow up on pending payments.
- Help with internal and external audits by providing the required paperwork.
- Work in line with accounting standards, company procedures, and tax rules.
- Assist with payroll processing and expense reimbursements when needed.
- Take on other accounting or administrative tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar discipline is required.
- Around 2 years of accounting experience is preferred, though fresh graduates are also welcome.
- Good foundational understanding of accounting concepts and financial reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting platforms such as QuickBooks, Tally, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems.
- Strong numerical ability and analytical thinking.
- High level of precision and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on your own as well as collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with tax rules and statutory compliance is an advantage.
- Exposure to ERP-based accounting workflows is desirable.
- Having a professional accounting qualification, or working toward one, is considered a plus.
