This role reports to the Supervisor and focuses on keeping buildings and surrounding areas clean, safe, and presentable. Work may include indoor restrooms, outdoor restrooms, receptacles, parking areas, offices, break rooms, and conference rooms. The position also requires the use of cleaning equipment and supplies in a careful and efficient way, along with professional and courteous interaction with customers.

Job Summary

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining cleanliness across assigned facilities and areas. Core duties include removing debris, vacuuming, mopping, buffing floors, shampooing carpets, emptying trash, replacing liners, and ensuring that cleanliness standards are consistently met.

Responsibilities

• Operate cleaning equipment such as automatic floor machines, commercial vacuums, wet mops, large wringers, and related tools, chemicals, and supplies.
• Dry mop and wet mop floors, scrub and polish floors with rotary and other machines, vacuum carpets, and move trash from utility rooms and other collection points.
• Carry out routine heavy-duty cleaning tasks.
• Perform detailed cleaning of induction units, walls, light fixtures, and windows on both the interior and exterior sides.
• Move furniture and help set up meeting rooms as needed.
• Clean offices, break rooms, and conference rooms.
• Empty, clean, and reline trash receptacles.
• Spot safety risks and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Record inspections and other maintenance-related activities.
• May be assigned minor groundskeeping or landscaping work by the supervisor.
• Complete any additional duties assigned.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience is required.
• Bloodborne Pathogen training must be completed.
• Must be dependable, responsible, and reliable.
• Should be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Knowledge of janitorial tools, equipment, techniques, materials, and methods is expected.
• Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, and reach using the body, arms, and legs.
• Must have the ability to see details up close.
• Should be capable of lifting 25 to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.
• Should work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must pass background screening and any contract- or company-required checks.
• Priority consideration will be given to people with disabilities due to contract requirements.
