Overview
Prime Wind is seeking a proactive and service-oriented IT Support Officer at entry/junior level for a full-time remote role based in Australia. This opportunity is suited to someone early in their IT career who enjoys helping users, solving technical problems, and supporting the day-to-day reliability of hardware, software, and network systems.
Role Summary
In this position, you will provide first-response technical assistance, help keep IT systems running smoothly, and contribute to the upkeep of the organization’s digital environment. The role involves working across support requests, device setup, account administration, documentation, and issue escalation where needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming IT support queries through phone, email, and ticketing tools.
- Diagnose and resolve common issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Support the setup, installation, configuration, and upkeep of computers, printers, mobile devices, and business software.
- Administer user access, including account management and password resets.
- Track and maintain IT equipment and software inventories.
- Record support actions and updates in a clear and organized manner.
- Watch system health and performance, and report or escalate more complex incidents to senior IT personnel.
Skills and Knowledge
The role calls for a solid grasp of basic computer hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and everyday business applications. Experience or familiarity with Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and help desk platforms is preferred. Exposure to remote support tools, cybersecurity awareness, and standard troubleshooting approaches will be helpful, though not mandatory.
