Role overview
We are hiring a Hatchery Operative for the hatchery team in Quainton, Buckinghamshire. This position is suited to someone who is eager to learn, as full training is provided and prior experience is not required.
What the role offers
- Pay of £13.25 per hour, issued on a weekly basis

Working pattern
The role follows a 41-hour weekly schedule:
- Monday and Tuesday: 06:00 to 16:00
- Wednesday: 06:00 to 12:30
- Thursday and Friday: 06:00 to 15:30
Key duties
As part of the hatchery operation, you will support essential daily processes that keep the wider business running smoothly.
- Sort chicks into the correct grades and quantities for delivery to farms
- Move eggs from storage into incubating units and then into hatching machines
- Clean equipment thoroughly after use to meet required standards
- Follow strict biosecurity procedures at all times
- Maintain bird welfare standards and comply with on-site health and safety rules
What we are looking for
- Good spoken and written English, along with basic numerical ability
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A careful approach, with attention to detail and flexibility across tasks
- Experience in a similar setting is helpful but not mandatory

The company is a major supplier of chicken, turkey and duck products to retail and food service customers across the UK. It operates an integrated supply chain that includes feed mills, farms, hatcheries, factories, transport and logistics, with more than 6,000 employees.
