Role overview
This position offers the chance to join the GCR team as a Manager, taking ownership of complex client engagements and contributing to the continued expansion of the practice.
What you will do
- Lead tax service delivery by combining technical expertise with practical understanding of commercial, legislative, and industry requirements.
- Oversee client compliance and reporting activities end to end.
- Build, protect, and deepen productive relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Ensure all services are delivered to a consistently high standard.
- Handle the day-to-day running of client engagements, including progress tracking and delivery management.
- Introduce and maintain standardized processes to support efficient execution.
- Spot risks early, raise issues when needed, and help drive solutions that improve performance.
- Supervise high-performing teams and contribute to a positive learning environment.
- Coach and support junior team members through mentoring and counseling.
- Make sure work is aligned with Tax Quality guidelines.
Skills and attributes
The role suits a strong communicator who pays close attention to detail, has solid management experience, and is comfortable collaborating across borders while handling large volumes of information.
Qualifications and experience
- A bachelor’s degree with strong academic results in accounting, business, finance, taxation, or a closely related field.
- An MBA, master’s degree, or another advanced qualification is preferred, along with professional credentials such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CTA, ADIT, or an equivalent certification.
- At least 5 years of strong experience in domestic and international tax rules, regulations, and developments, ideally gained in a large professional services firm or a similar setting.
- Substantial background in tax accounting and tax auditing, preferably in a comparable professional services environment.
- A proven record in management, organization, and project coordination.
- Experience working with multinational clients and the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment is desirable.
- Good commercial awareness, legislative understanding, and industry knowledge are also preferred.
