Geological Technician

About the Role

Waterline Resources Inc. is seeking a dedicated Geological Technician to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This full-time, onsite position involves a variety of tasks related to geological surveys, data collection, and analysis. The role requires working in diverse environments, including urban, rural, and remote locations, both outdoors and on land.

Responsibilities

• Assist in and conduct comprehensive environmental audits.
• Execute geological, geophysical, geochemical, hydrographic, or oceanographic surveys.
• Participate in prospecting field trips, exploratory drilling, well logging, and underground mine survey programs.
• Direct and conduct various surveys and survey programs.
• Maintain filing and record systems through clerical duties.
• Perform physical and chemical laboratory tests.
• Create detailed notes, sketches, geological maps, and cross-sections.
• Support hydrogeological field and laboratory studies.

Requirements

• Possession of a Bachelor's degree.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Geographic Information System (GIS).
• Experience operating GPS and other navigation equipment.
• Experience in mapping and surveying, geological, geochemical, and geophysical sampling analysis.
• Familiarity with seismic surveying, geotechnical studies, spectroscopy, microscopy, acoustic techniques, and telescoping.
• Experience in data interpretation and evaluation, environmental monitoring, field sampling and data acquisition, geological mapping, laboratory analysis, quality assurance and control, regulatory investigation, and scientific data processing.
• Experience in hydrographic surveying within the industry.
• Specialization in geophysics, geology, or extractive and physical metallurgy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Must possess steel-toed safety boots.
• Strong judgment, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Efficient interpersonal skills.

Eligibility

This role is open to individuals with a Bachelor's degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in geological or related fields. Candidates must be proficient in relevant technologies and fieldwork. Fluency in English is required.
