Role overview
Robinson Trailers and Cranes is hiring a fully trained plasma/press brake operator to support its production workflow in Dublin. The position is centered on running press brake and plasma equipment under supervision to cut and form profiled flat steel plates in line with engineering drawings and machine settings. The successful person will need strong analytical ability, accuracy, and a practical approach to day-to-day manufacturing work.
Key duties
- Load and unload raw materials, swap tools as needed, and choose the correct machine programs for the job.
- Check finished and in-process parts against engineering specifications using the company’s inspection methods.
- Troubleshoot quality and mechanical issues, carry out minor repairs, and make basic machine adjustments when required.
- Keep press brake equipment maintained and ensure it meets safety standards.
- Use different measuring instruments and work accurately with metric measurements, so solid math skills are important.
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and complete tasks on time.
Requirements
- Good spoken and written English, with the ability to understand and communicate effectively.
- Reliable attendance and a way to travel to and from work on time.
- Experience with an overhead gantry crane is essential.
- Forklift experience is preferred, though not mandatory.
- A manual handling certificate is an advantage because some heavy lifting will be involved.
- Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is essential.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with industry software are required, as machine programming involves creating instructions.
- Commitment to safety, health, environmental, and company procedures, along with keeping the workspace clean and orderly.
