Role overview
This is a permanent full-time opening for a Forklift Operative at a Cork depot in Little Island, County Cork. The role sits within a busy logistics environment and focuses on freight movement, terminal support, and keeping daily operations running safely and efficiently. The shift runs from 16:00 to 00:00, Monday to Friday.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is €30,000 to €35,000 per year. A 10% shift allowance is payable for hours worked between 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
Responsibilities
- Check, scan, and unload inbound freight, making sure all outgoing allocations are completed correctly.
- Scan and load freight leaving the depot.
- Coordinate with customer service and planning teams as needed.
- Handle all goods carefully to avoid damage.
- Follow company health and safety procedures at all times.
- Comply with ADR and dangerous goods rules at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and order across the department.
- Support the Contract Logistics team when required.
- Take part in all training sessions provided.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned.
- Help meet the objectives and performance targets set by management.
- Prepare incident and discrepancy reports promptly.
Requirements
- A valid forklift licence is mandatory.
- A reach truck licence is an advantage.
- Prior experience working as a forklift operator is required.
- Strong spoken and written English skills are essential.
- Experience in logistics or transport is preferred.
- Good communication skills are necessary.
- Experience handling dangerous goods and pharma freight is desirable.
