About the Organization
The Construction Association of Saskatchewan (CASK) represents the voice of Saskatchewan’s construction sector. As a province-wide, member-led nonprofit, it focuses on advocating for fair procurement, strengthening workforce development, and promoting a healthy, competitive construction environment. Its work combines advocacy, learning, industry leadership, and member support, all aimed at helping build a stronger Saskatchewan.
Role Overview
CASK is seeking a highly organized, detail-focused, and forward-thinking professional to take on the position of Executive Assistant, Governance & Board Relations. Reporting to the President & CEO, this role goes beyond conventional executive assistance by acting as a dependable partner in executive support, governance coordination, and organizational effectiveness. The selected candidate will assist the CEO while also managing governance processes for the Board of Directors and Regional Advisory Councils.
This position offers exposure to executive leadership, governance, strategic work, stakeholder engagement, and the construction industry in Saskatchewan. It is a fast-moving environment with varied responsibilities, ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic setting and wants to build a broad foundation in business and leadership support.
Key Duties
- Coordinate the President & CEO’s calendar, meetings, travel arrangements, and scheduling priorities.
- Look ahead to possible conflicts or needs and help keep executive work running smoothly.
- Gather information and prepare briefing notes, executive summaries, and background documents for meetings and stakeholder discussions.
- Prepare draft correspondence, reports, presentations, and other communications for review.
- Organize governance work for the Board of Directors and Regional Advisory Councils.
- Create meeting agendas, board packages, and supporting materials.
- Take, draft, and confirm meeting minutes while keeping governance records accurate and current.
- Monitor action items, resolutions, and commitments made by the organization.
- Maintain confidential corporate files and governance documentation.
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives across the organization.
- Look for ways to streamline processes and make effective use of technology.
Qualifications
Postsecondary study in business, commerce, public administration, communications, or a similar discipline is preferred. Background supporting executives, boards, committees, or governance groups is an advantage. Experience creating presentations, reports, and meeting documents is helpful, as is experience researching and preparing executive summaries or briefing materials. CASK will also consider a mix of education and relevant experience. Early-career candidates with strong organizational ability and leadership potential are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Attributes
The ideal candidate brings a strong eye for detail, excellent organization, and the ability to manage time well. Strong written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and the capacity to turn information into clear, practical summaries are important. Advanced use of Microsoft Office 365 tools, especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Excel, is required. The role also calls for someone who can juggle several priorities at once, take initiative, work with discretion, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. Comfort working with executives, volunteer leaders, and stakeholders, along with adaptability in a busy environment, is essential.
What CASK Offers
- An opportunity to work closely with the President & CEO and gain direct exposure to executive leadership and governance.
- Broad experience across strategy, advocacy, governance, stakeholder relations, and organizational operations.
- A collaborative, fast-paced workplace where each day brings different challenges.
- A competitive compensation and benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional learning and career growth.
- The chance to support Saskatchewan’s construction industry and contribute to its future direction.
