Job purpose

This position supports the secure, smooth, and compliant functioning of the airside environment by performing scheduled and detailed checks across the movement area, tracking day-to-day operations, and ensuring adherence to DGCA, ICAO, and internal procedures. The role helps keep airside activities safe and uninterrupted during assigned shifts.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out regular inspections of the runway, taxiways, apron, and other operational zones, and ensure observations are closed within the required time.
  • Monitor radio communication between ATC and aircraft within the area of responsibility to confirm that instructions are accurate, acknowledged, and followed.
  • Identify safety risks in the airside environment, report them, and initiate preventive action where needed.
  • Support safe aircraft movement coordination on the apron and help maintain overall ramp safety.

  • Facilitate approved airside works and coordinate runway maneuvering area handover and takeover during maintenance.
  • Support VVIP and VIP movements.
  • Provide Follow Me service to aircraft, vehicles, equipment, and VVIP flights.

  • Implement safeguarding measures before Low Visibility Procedures begin.
  • Apply vehicular control measures during low visibility operations and brief/supervise traffic marshals accordingly.
  • Respond to emergencies as directed and support drills and preparedness exercises.
  • Act quickly during airside incidents and accidents.
  • Keep logs and complete runway and apron inspection checklists accurately.
  • Escalate issues promptly to the Apron Manager or Operation Duty Manager.
  • Maintain professional communication with ATC, AOCC, Apron Control, and aircraft-related stakeholders as needed.
