Job Overview

This remote contract opportunity is for an Excel specialist who can support the training of next-generation AI systems through accurate, practical, real-world input. The role is centered on applying deep spreadsheet expertise to help improve how models understand, reason, and respond. Prior experience in AI is not required; strong domain knowledge and advanced Excel capability are the key requirements.

Core Responsibilities

• Examine complex Excel workbooks used in business operations, strategic planning, and data analysis, then improve them where needed.
• Share detailed observations, examples, and best practices for using Excel in operational and consulting scenarios, excluding finance-related use cases.
• Create, document, and hand over Excel templates or solutions that can be used as learning material for AI model development.
• Work with the client team to map important workflows and operational pain points reflected in spreadsheet documents.
• Assess and replicate realistic business situations using advanced formulas and spreadsheet features.
• Produce clear written and verbal updates, with documentation that is accurate, structured, and easy to follow.
• Help develop data analysis examples and operational case studies based on Excel expertise.

Required Background

• Advanced command of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and automation features.
• Hands-on experience building Excel solutions for business operations, strategy, or consulting environments.
• Strong analytical ability to solve complex business problems in non-financial contexts using spreadsheets.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, along with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to document processes, prepare guidance materials, and provide practical, actionable feedback.
• Experience with data analysis, scenario modeling, and workflow improvement in Excel.
• Self-driven approach and comfort working independently in a remote setup.

Preferred Experience

• Exposure to business operations, strategic work, or management consulting.
• Any familiarity with AI training or contributing to machine learning datasets in a subject-matter role.
• Experience creating Excel-based tools or dashboards for operational improvement programs.
