Engineer - Structural Steel - Site

Role Overview

This position is focused on overseeing structural steel erection work at the project site, ensuring the activities are carried out in line with approved drawings, safety requirements, quality benchmarks, and planned timelines. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams and outside agencies to keep execution on track and address site-level issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out and track fabrication and erection activities for structural steel in accordance with design drawings and established standards.
• Confirm that materials and workmanship comply with project specifications and quality expectations.
• Work with structural steel vendors and fabricators to secure timely supplies and confirm adherence to requirements.
• Check that erected steel members are aligned correctly against approved drawings and survey coordinates.
• Oversee welding, bolting, painting, and non-destructive testing activities in coordination with QA/QC personnel.
• Coordinate with engineering and planning teams to support smooth workflow, workfront readiness, and progress control.
• Maintain daily records of site progress, manpower deployment, and resource usage, and highlight any variances.
• Follow all site safety procedures strictly during steel handling, erection, and related operations.
• Help address technical clarifications and keep site documentation complete and up to date.
• Assist with material reconciliation, measurement checks, and inputs needed for billing and commercial tracking.
