Nalco Water, part of Ecolab, is looking for a technical sales professional to join its sales organization in Doha, Qatar. The position focuses on expanding revenue and profitability across selected accounts by using a consultative approach, strengthening existing customer relationships, and introducing new technologies and services.

Job overview

You will be responsible for driving order generation and revenue growth for company products and services across assigned customer and prospect accounts. Success in the role comes from understanding customer needs, shaping sales plans, selling solutions, and supporting customers within a defined territory.

Key duties

  • Work with the District Manager and senior sales team to set sales strategy and delivery plans, then pursue annual targets by securing orders and opening new accounts.
  • Plan day-to-day territory activity, contact current and potential customers, and recommend company solutions based on business needs and account priorities.
  • Share updates with management through regular reports and clear communication on activity, opportunities, and account status.
  • Meet the minimum daily sales call expectations for the assigned group, with district management support when needed.
  • Visit customer sites to observe product use, service assigned accounts, and suggest adjustments to chemical dosing, flow rates, or equipment settings as required.
  • Escalate operational changes or customer issues to the District Manager and the customer in a timely way.
  • Identify opportunities to broaden product use at existing accounts and, with guidance from senior sales staff, create and execute account plans.
  • As technical and sales capability grows, handle both sales and service work in the territory while applying the Six Service Standards and documenting customer value.
  • Under supervision, organize and carry out sales and service visits.
  • Stay closely aligned with district leadership on account developments, customer requirements, pricing, competitor activity, and product acceptance.
  • Maintain sales pipeline records and any other required reporting or documentation.
  • Drive safely and keep company vehicle and equipment clean, organized, and professional in appearance.
  • Support the company’s Quality Improvement Process, Responsible Care principles, and the six Codes of Management Practice.

Required profile

  • A bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Prior experience in technical sales or field sales support is needed.
  • A valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle record are mandatory.
  • Completion of the Nalco Sales Training Program and clear potential for a career as a Nalco representative are preferred indicators.

  • A BA/BS in a science or technical discipline is preferred.
