Role overview
The Simon Hotel Sydney is hiring a full-time dishwasher for an on-site position in Sydney, Nova Scotia. The role supports kitchen cleanliness, dishwashing operations, and general sanitation to help keep the back-of-house running smoothly.
Education
A secondary school graduation certificate is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
What you will do
- Clean and disinfect dishwasher mats, carts, and waste disposal units.
- Run dishwashers to clean dishes, glassware, and flatware.
- Store cleaned dishes in the designated area.
- Wash and sanitize dishes and other kitchen items by hand when needed.
- Scrub pots and pans.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including countertops, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
- Safely handle and store cleaning supplies.
- Remove kitchen garbage and waste.
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
Certificates and training
A WHMIS certificate is required.
Transportation
Applicants must have their own transportation.
