Designer - Architectural Solutions

The role

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in a well-appointed Calgary office. The standard schedule is typically 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, although some projects may require longer or irregular hours.

The company is seeking a DIRTT Designer to join its Contemporary Office Interiors team. In this role, you will combine creativity, technical ability, and problem-solving to turn client needs and ideas into finished design solutions. You will use your design knowledge and digital tools to help deliver practical, sustainable, and visually compelling environments.

What you will do

• Guide clients through an engaging design experience from the first conversation through to the final handover.
• Develop original space concepts and solutions that create a strong impression on all project stakeholders.
• Stay informed about site conditions, project scope, and all relevant project updates.
• Build client projects in ICE software, either starting from a blank DIRTT space or from an existing AutoCAD plan.
• Convert 2D drawings into 3D visualizations and virtual reality walkthroughs.
• Collaborate with clients, sales staff, project managers, contractors, subcontractors, and other designers to move projects forward.
• Check drawings and production details carefully to ensure accuracy.
• Prepare and submit orders together with the project manager.

Requirements

• A relevant post-secondary diploma or associate degree in interior design, or in a closely related field, is required.
• Professional credentials such as WELL, NCIDQ, or ARIDO are considered an advantage.
• Depending on project needs, extra certifications may be necessary.
• Prior experience in an architectural and/or interior design firm is required.
• Experience working on commercial design projects is required.
• Strong understanding of interior design and architectural practices is needed.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications is required.
• Practical experience using AutoCAD and other 3D design software is required.
• A degree or diploma in design or architecture is required.
• Knowledge of the company’s contract furniture lines, architectural walls, and commercial flooring is an asset.
• Familiarity with DIRTT solutions is an added advantage.
• Genuine interest in creating exceptional and memorable spaces is expected.
• Previous experience in related industries such as contract furniture, kitchen design, furniture manufacturing, interior design, or architecture is beneficial.
