Decorator Full Time Night

About the role

This position is focused on creating an inviting bakery experience for customers, whether they are celebrating a birthday, marking a milestone, preparing a family meal, or simply looking for something fresh from the bakery. The Decorator adds a personal, memorable touch to the in-store shopping experience through skilled product preparation and customer interaction.

In this role, you will handle customer orders, ensure accurate product labeling, and offer helpful service by answering questions and sharing product knowledge. The goal is to support an excellent bakery experience while contributing to a better store environment.

What you will do

• Prepare, decorate, and present cakes and pastry items based on recipe cards and production schedules.
• Provide prompt, courteous service to customers.
• Package, price, and stock items in the cake display, sales area, and coolers while maintaining rotation and quality standards.
• Support the department manager with daily operations, including ordering supplies and products, receiving deliveries, taking customer orders, and helping train and oversee part-time staff.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards in line with company policies and legal requirements.
• Work from production planners and accurately track waste and scan-outs according to company procedures.
• Carry out additional duties as needed.

What you need to succeed

• A strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
• Prior experience working as a cake decorator.
• Availability to work overnight shifts.
• The ability to stay effective in a fast-moving environment and adjust quickly when priorities change.
• Previous experience in a leadership role is an advantage.
• Strong skills in organization, planning, and communication.
• A food handler certificate is considered an asset.

Compensation and union details

The starting pay range for this unionized position is $17.60 to $25.96 per hour. Pay rates are set by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. The posting refers to an existing vacancy.
