About the Role
DATAMIND TRE is a UK national Trusted Research Environment that enables secure, privacy-focused access to sensitive information for research and innovation in healthcare, academia, and industry. Hosted within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences at Swansea University, it supports data-led work with meaningful outcomes for mental health and population health.
The University is looking for an experienced and well-organised Data Manager to assist with the day-to-day delivery, governance, and continued improvement of the DATAMIND TRE platform. In this role, you will work with researchers, analysts, technical experts, and governance teams to support secure data intake, data organisation, metadata handling, disclosure control, user access processes, and data quality checks across the environment.
You will play a key part in making sure data remains secure, accurate, accessible, and compliant with legal, ethical, and governance obligations, while supporting practices aligned with GDPR, NHS data standards, and recognised secure research environment principles.
Contract and Work Pattern
This position is a fixed-term appointment, initially funded for two years. It may be extended depending on project funding and programme needs, with the possibility of continuing through to March 2030.
The role is full time and based onsite at Singleton Campus, Swansea.

Welsh Language Requirement
The required Welsh language level for this post is Level 1 - A little. This means the post holder should be able to pronounce Welsh words, answer the phone with simple Welsh greetings, and use basic everyday words and phrases. This level can be achieved through a one-hour course.
The University is a bilingual institution and encourages staff to develop Welsh as an additional workplace skill. Welsh speakers have the right to an interview in Welsh. Where Welsh is essential, applicants are expected to apply in Welsh and may be interviewed in Welsh if shortlisted.
