The organization supports food security, rural livelihoods, and wider economic progress by shaping programs and policies through evidence and data. It also partners with local and international stakeholders to improve value chains, raise productivity, and encourage responsible use of resources. Data, research, and analytics play a central role in helping teams plan, monitor, and make informed decisions that benefit communities and national development.
Role Overview
The Ministry is seeking a Data Analyst and Research professional for a part-time, hybrid assignment in Hargeisa, with some flexibility to work from home. This position focuses on gathering, cleaning, checking, and organizing livestock and fisheries data from sources such as field surveys, administrative records, and partner submissions. The role also involves statistical analysis, data modeling, and turning findings into practical insights that can support program planning, policy work, and allocation of resources.
Key Duties
In this role, you will prepare dashboards, reports, and charts that can be understood by both technical teams and non-technical audiences. You will also contribute to research studies, evaluations, and impact assessments, while working closely with program staff to identify information needs, strengthen data quality, and convert analysis into actionable recommendations.

A bachelor’s degree or higher in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Agriculture, Public Policy, or a related area is required. Comfort with hybrid work, good time management, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and field staff are also important. Knowledge of livestock, fisheries, agriculture, or rural development will be considered an advantage. Careful attention to detail, a strong commitment to data quality, and ethical handling of information are essential.
Additional Information
This position is described as part-time and hybrid, while the role description also refers to it as full-time; applicants should be prepared for either arrangement as stated in the source. No salary or stipend amount was provided.
