About CASCADA
CASCADA Thermal Springs + Hotel is a sustainability-minded boutique hotel and wellness spa located in Portland’s Alberta Arts District. Recognized by Esquire as one of the world’s top 50 best new hotels, the property was designed to help guests slow down, reconnect, and experience something authentic with themselves, their community, and the natural world.
Built as the world’s first LEED Platinum mass timber hotel, CASCADA offers a distinctive setting with hydrothermal spa amenities, soaking pools, sauna, steam, cold plunges, memorable dining, and carefully designed rooms. The company’s mission is to create sustainable spaces, products, and experiences that strengthen human wellbeing and deepen connection with nature.
Role Overview
This position is for a creator who can come on site with a camera, identify compelling moments, and turn them into engaging social content. The role blends shooting, editing, planning, and publishing, with a strong focus on capturing the atmosphere of the spa, hotel, events, and everyday experiences in a way that feels real, polished, and aligned with the brand.
The work is highly hands-on and requires comfort with early mornings, evening edits, and active in-person coverage. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with the marketing and PR team to shape a content calendar and bring campaigns, stories, and moments from property to life.
What You’ll Do
- Create and edit original photo, video, reel, and story content on property on a regular basis, not only during scheduled moments.
- Plan and maintain the social content calendar together with the marketing and PR team across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
- Keep content aligned with the brand’s visual style, voice, and overall feel while staying current with trends on each platform.
- Work closely with spa, fitness, culinary, and hospitality teams to identify story opportunities and capture them effectively.
- Help manage ambassador and creator relationships and support collaborative campaigns with leadership.
- Write engaging captions and interact with messages and comments in a natural, personable way.
- Review performance metrics and use insights to improve the content approach over time.
- Produce tailored content for campaigns, launches, partnerships, and announcements.
- Capture event coverage in a way that preserves the guest experience and then repurpose that footage for social channels.
- Support creative campaign execution with marketing and PR.
- Contribute to performance reporting after events and campaigns.
- Take on other related duties as needed.
Requirements
- Must be based in Portland, Oregon, or willing to relocate there.
- At least 3 years of experience creating social content and/or managing events for a brand with 25K+ followers across platforms.
- Strong shooting and editing abilities for both photo and video content.
- Experience or familiarity with Adobe Premiere, Lightroom, and CapCut; Canva is considered an added advantage.
- Comfort using social scheduling tools such as Later, Hootsuite, or Sprout Social.
- Strong writing instincts and a distinctive, confident voice in captions and content.
- Good sense for storytelling, branding, and audience engagement.
- Highly organized and able to balance calendars, shoots, and last-minute coverage without missing details.
- Experience with influencer outreach and creator collaborations.
- Self-directed and motivated to create meaningful visual content.
- Availability for a changing schedule that may include days, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays on site.
- Willingness to perform any other duties assigned.
Preferred Background
- Experience in boutique hospitality, wellness, lifestyle, travel, or fashion.
- Strong interest in health, art, personal development, and community.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and independent leadership.
Additional Information
This role may be structured as full-time or part-time, with classification as 1099 and/or W2 depending on qualifications.
An audition-style step is part of the selection process for strong candidates and includes an experience exchange, where content is created for the hiring team’s review in return for the full CASCADA experience.
