Compliance Testing Officer

Role overview

This position is responsible for carrying out compliance assessments across the bank’s functions and new products, with the aim of giving management reasonable comfort that regulatory requirements are being met.

Reporting line

The role reports to the Lead – Compliance Testing.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation of the compliance review plan that is presented to the Board.
• Develop and refresh compliance review checklists in alignment with applicable regulatory instructions and internal policies.
• Carry out fieldwork and ensure reviews are completed within the required timelines.
• Draft compliance review reports and discuss findings with relevant stakeholders.
• Collect stakeholder responses and prepare the final compliance review report.
• Maintain complete documentation and working papers for every compliance review performed.
• Prepare an open-issues tracker for issued compliance review reports.
• Coordinate with management to monitor and close open items arising from compliance reviews.

Essential competencies

• Strong understanding of the Indian banking regulatory landscape, with particular focus on RBI requirements.
• Ability to research regulatory requirements thoroughly and interpret them accurately.
• At least 5 years of experience in the banking sector.
• Working knowledge of banking operations, including commercial and operational aspects such as remittances and retail and corporate loans and advances.
• Well-developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
