About the Role
This full-time, non-management kitchen role is based in Marina Bay, Singapore. You will support day-to-day culinary preparation in the Republic Kitchen while working to the service, hygiene, and quality expectations associated with a luxury hospitality environment.
Key Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking by portioning, chopping, storing, and handling produce.
- Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Measure, weigh, and combine ingredients accurately.
- Cook menu items according to recipes, food preparation checklists, presentation requirements, and quality standards.
- Prepare cold dishes and assist with general kitchen production.
- Use kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
- Check food during cooking to confirm it is properly done and maintain food quality throughout preparation.
- Set up, maintain, and close down the workstation.
- Plate and portion food into the correct containers or service ware.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, surfaces, utensils, tools, knives, and equipment.
- Verify appliance settings and food temperatures as needed.
Working Standards
- Comply with company policies, safety rules, and security procedures.
- Report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to the manager.
- Complete required safety training and certifications.
- Maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform and grooming standards.
- Protect confidential company information and safeguard company property.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues.
- Build positive working relationships and contribute to team goals.
- Listen carefully to coworker concerns and respond appropriately.
- Maintain the required quality standards in daily work.
- Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, including an entire shift.
- Be able to bend, twist, reach overhead and below the knees, pull, stoop, and perform similar movements.
- Handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Carry out other duties assigned by supervisors.
