Role overview
FedEx Australia is hiring a Clearance Agent in Matraville, New South Wales. In this role, you will help international imports and exports move through customs efficiently, accurately, and in line with regulatory requirements so deliveries arrive on schedule. The position also offers the chance to deepen your knowledge of customs compliance and international trade within a major global logistics business.
Key responsibilities
- Check and confirm the accuracy of customs paperwork such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits, and declarations.
- Complete and lodge customs declarations correctly and within the required deadlines.
- Work with customs officials and other regulatory authorities to support fast and compliant clearance.
- Coordinate with customers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to collect information, address clearance concerns, and reduce delays.
- Look into customs exceptions and compliance problems, then resolve them promptly.
- Keep records and supporting documents accurate and aligned with both legal and company standards.
- Stay current on updates to customs rules, trade agreements, and tariff obligations.
- Collaborate with Operations, Customer Service, and Sales to ensure a smooth customer journey.
