Scalby Academy is seeking a cleaner to join the academy from July 2026 on a permanent, full-time basis. The role sits within the site management team and focuses on keeping the school environment clean, safe, and healthy for staff, students, and visitors.

Scalby Academy is a well-regarded 11-16 community school in Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast, serving around 1,000 students. The school is known locally as a popular choice and continues to improve its outcomes, with its 2024 Progress 8 result placing it in the top 14% of schools nationally. The academy values a positive, can-do culture and places strong emphasis on professional growth, much of it delivered internally.

Key duties

The cleaner will support the wider site team by maintaining a tidy and hygienic site, helping ensure the academy remains a pleasant place to work, study, and visit.

Pay and working conditions

The post is graded at Salary Grade B, Point 3, with a full-time equivalent salary of £24,796, paid on a pro rata basis. The minimum actual pro rata annual salary for this position starts at £12,062.92.

Holiday entitlement is at least 35 days, including statutory Bank Holidays, subject to pro rata adjustments for part-time working and continuous service.
