Claims Analyst

Role overview

This long-term freelance opportunity is for an insurance specialist with hands-on knowledge of claims and operations. The role is fully remote and is intended for someone who can contribute at least 10 hours per week, with 20+ hours per week preferred. Onboarding is fast, with the work expected to begin immediately, typically within about 24 hours.

What you will do

• Convert practical insurance workflows into structured tasks that can be used by AI systems.
• Review AI-produced outputs for correctness, sound reasoning, and alignment with insurance domain rules.
• Handle scenarios related to claims review, underwriting analysis, policy administration, and risk assessment.
• Study claims records, policy paperwork, and risk reports to surface patterns, exposures, and opportunities.
• Record assumptions, reasoning steps, and final decisions in a clear and organized way.
• Share feedback that helps improve the quality and reliability of AI outputs.

Required background

Applicants should have substantial experience in insurance operations, claims management, underwriting, or risk. Prior exposure to at least three of the following areas is needed: claims adjudication, underwriting, policy administration, subrogation, and risk analysis. A background of 5 to 10 years in a relevant field is preferred, though strong candidates outside that range may still be considered.

Working style

The work is mostly asynchronous, so scheduling is flexible. Meetings are kept to a minimum, with optional office hours generally held once or twice each week. Collaboration is handled through Slack and internal systems, and candidates are expected to stay engaged and communicate progress proactively.

Compensation

The engagement pays between USD 100 and 125 per hour.
