Role overview

The Challenge Course Instructor at Miraval The Red Sea will lead a range of high- and low-ropes experiences, including climbing walls, obstacle-style activities, and team-building programs. The role combines physical adventure with mindfulness practices to support growth, cooperation, and mental strength. The instructor will focus on guest safety, participation, and comfort while delivering an engaging experience for individuals and groups. This position also supports the creation of new challenge-based offerings and works closely with the broader fitness and recreation team to deliver well-rounded, meaningful guest experiences.

Challenge course facilitation and guest engagement

• Run high and low ropes activities such as climbing walls, group challenges, obstacle courses, and similar adventure experiences.
• Lead guests through mindful movement sessions that incorporate collaboration, problem-solving, and resilience-building.
• Create a welcoming, safe, and inclusive atmosphere for guests with different abilities and fitness levels.
• Explain safety practices, correct equipment usage, and movement methods clearly to ensure a strong guest experience.
• Design original team-building exercises that strengthen communication, trust, and cooperation.
• Use mindfulness methods during activities to support emotional balance and personal transformation.

Program development and innovation

• Partner with the Fitness & Recreation Manager to plan and launch new challenge course experiences for a wide range of guest profiles.
• Keep up with new trends in challenge courses and team-building so programs remain fresh and aligned with Miraval’s wellness approach.
• Create themed experiences such as sunrise group challenges, mindful problem-solving sessions, and wellness-focused adventure retreats.
• Track guest participation and progress, then adjust activities and provide feedback based on individual or group needs.

Safety and operational standards

• Deliver detailed safety briefings before activities begin and make sure guests receive the correct gear.
• Check, set up, and maintain challenge course equipment so it remains safe and in good working order.
• Follow safety procedures and emergency protocols throughout all activities, while complying with Saudi government rules and regulations.
• Keep all challenge course areas tidy, organized, and aligned with required safety standards.

Guest relations and teamwork

• Build positive guest relationships through attentive support and a warm, approachable style.
• Coordinate with fitness, wellness, and recreation colleagues to blend challenge activities smoothly into the resort’s wider offerings.
• Deliver personalized experiences that support guests’ fitness, wellness, and team-building goals.
• Mentor junior instructors and share effective practices in facilitation and safety management.

Marketing and engagement

• Work with the marketing team on articles, blog content, and promotional material for challenge course experiences.
• Represent the resort’s challenge course programs at external wellness events and industry fairs.
• Gather guest feedback and use it to refine programs and better meet guest and resort expectations.
