Role overview
This position is for a senior specialist who will act as a technical and regulatory authority for the Saudi Arabia Saleem Program, also known as the Saudi Product Safety Program. The role calls for extensive practical experience with SASO schemes, portals and digital platforms, conformity assessment operations, and the implementation of ISO/IEC 17065 inside SASO-accredited certification bodies.
In addition to technical ownership, the specialist will function as a central knowledge resource, helping drive operational discipline, compliance with regulations, and commercial growth in the Saudi GMA market.
Core responsibilities
- Take ownership of the certification program by maintaining the full set of governance and operational documents, including policies, procedures, SOPs, work instructions, checklists, and compliance records.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Saudi SALEEM and SASO certification schemes, track regulatory updates, and ensure all certification workflows and documents are updated on time.
- Maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17065, including impartiality controls, risk management practices, management review activities, and readiness for audits.
- Oversee accreditations, mandatory regulatory notifications, and designations related to certification offices.
- Manage the end-to-end certification cycle, covering first-time certification, changes, renewals, surveillance activities, re-testing, and laboratory qualification where relevant.
- Track program outcomes and contribute to reporting tools, dashboards, and other operational systems.
- Act as a knowledge hub by training and assisting operations teams, follow-up services, sales, and other internal stakeholders.
- Help create sales and service enablement content and participate as a subject matter expert in customer discussions, marketing initiatives, and webinars.
- Contribute to growth and expansion initiatives for the business.
- Develop and sustain strong relationships with regulators, join regulatory committees, and represent UL Solutions in external forums and initiatives.
Qualifications and requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required; Electrical, Electronics, or Telecommunication specializations are preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in the Saudi GMA or product compliance sector.
- Strong practical understanding of ISO/IEC 17065 and how it is applied within SASO-accredited certification bodies.
- Good knowledge of SASO certification body compliance and energy efficiency laboratory compliance expectations.
- Deep familiarity with SASO programs such as SABER P-CoC, Shipment CoC, SASO EX, SIRC, SASO EER, SQM, and SASO COC.
- Hands-on exposure to SASO platforms and systems including SABER, Maneh, Jeem1, Wasif, E-SASO Services, and SLS.
- Demonstrated ability to draft SOPs, procedures, and compliance documents, support audits, operate as a subject matter expert and knowledge anchor, and contribute to regulatory engagement and business growth.
