About the role

We are hiring a Category Management Client Lead in Auckland to strengthen a client’s category management capability and help teams use customer data tools with accuracy and confidence. This role is focused on improving how category decisions are made by acting as a trusted advisor, technical expert, and capability builder.

You will champion the relevant tools and frameworks, support teams in day-to-day adoption, and help embed best-practice category management into routine business processes. The position also involves turning customer insight into clear stories, recommendations, and actions that support stronger category outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the main subject matter expert for dh tools, Power BI dashboards, and category management frameworks used across the client.
  • Help teams adopt the tools effectively by building both their technical confidence and practical capability.
  • Provide everyday support, troubleshoot issues, and guide client teams through operational challenges.
  • Integrate core category management frameworks into business workflows and decision-making routines.
  • Interpret customer insights and convert them into concise narratives, recommendations, and action points that improve category performance.
  • Run structured coaching, training, and capability-building sessions across functions.
  • Support key initiatives and broader project work as needed.
  • Manage user onboarding, issue resolution, communications, and reporting on usage to keep operations running smoothly.

What we’re looking for

We’re seeking someone with hands-on experience in category management within retail and/or manufacturer environments, along with exposure to retail or FMCG businesses. A background of 3 to 5 years in customer insight work, including data analysis and recommendation development, is important.
