Role overview
Comer Group Ireland, a major private developer in the residential and commercial sectors in Ireland, is hiring a full-time Carpenter for its construction team in Sandyford, South Dublin. This position is offered as a 24-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of being extended depending on future business needs.

Key responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of carpentry and finishing tasks across residential apartment developments, including fitting, installing, and repairing fixtures, fittings, and other household components.
- Manage finishing activities on site so that work meets the required design, quality, and schedule standards.
- Work closely with subcontractors and other trades to support smooth sequencing and timely completion of work.
- Keep workmanship standards consistently high across all carpentry and finishing duties.
- Spot defects or maintenance concerns, report them, and take a proactive approach to resolving them with the Maintenance or Site Manager.
- Stay in regular contact with site management and property managers to help ensure issues are dealt with quickly and effectively.
- Support general site tasks when needed, including assembly and installation work.
- Diagnose and resolve minor issues related to buildings, fixtures, and utilities as they come up on site.
- Use tools, plant, and equipment safely, keep them in good condition, and store them properly.
- Prepare basic lists of materials required for the job.
Health, safety, and compliance
- Follow all health, safety, and welfare rules, along with company procedures, at all times.
- Act quickly on building safety concerns and emergency call-outs when required.
- Carry out work in line with company standards, building regulations, and accepted best practice.
- Keep the work area safe, orderly, and clean at all times.
Site coordination and communication
- Take part in site meetings when asked to do so.
- Partner with site management to help move work forward and meet completion targets.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with all relevant stakeholders across multiple sites in the assigned region.
- Travel between sites as needed to support construction and finishing work.
Candidate profile
The successful applicant should have carpentry experience in maintenance, construction, or commercial settings, ideally from a similar position. The role calls for strong organisation, a positive approach, the ability to learn quickly, initiative, attention to detail, and flexibility. A full clean driving licence is required, and immediate availability is an advantage.
Qualification
A recognised carpenter qualification is required.
