Business Intelligence/Data Analytics Specialist

Role overview

Lonza is hiring a Business Intelligence Analyst to join its Group Intelligence function in Hyderabad. The role is centered on the technical support and ongoing running of the company’s business intelligence ecosystem, with the main emphasis on commercial, sales, and marketing scenarios. The position spans the complete BI workflow, including data ingestion, data modelling, analytics, application support, and reporting for business users, with a focus on building solutions that are dependable, scalable, and closely matched to business priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute as a core member of the Omni BI delivery team and support the development and enhancement of BI products.
• Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and define solutions with a strong user-first approach.
• Build ETL workflows and support data integration and pipeline development.
• Create dashboards and reports that are easy to use and tell a clear story for decision-makers.
• Produce analytical insights that help guide commercial decisions.
• Improve the quality, accessibility, and traceability of data foundations.
• Support day-to-day BI platform operations, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Help maintain data governance practices, including standards, metadata handling, and access management.
• Spot opportunities to add value through BI, analytics, or automation, especially in marketing-related areas.
• Drive experimentation through proof-of-concept work and ongoing improvement of tools and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data, IT, Digital, or a closely related discipline.
• 0 to 4 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar field.
• Strong working knowledge of BI and data concepts in database-centric environments.
• Practical experience with ETL tools such as Snaplogic, SSIS, or Azure Data Factory.
• Understanding of data governance topics such as data quality, lineage, and controlled access.
• Experience building reports and dashboards with tools like Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, Spotfire, Looker, or similar platforms.
• Nice to have: familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or Node.js, along with Docker and CI/CD practices.
