Role Overview
Henry Ford Health is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to turn healthcare, engineering, and operational data into clear insights that help leadership make better decisions. In this role, you will support both department-level and enterprise-wide objectives by collecting, examining, and presenting data in ways that improve patient outcomes, quality, efficiency, and strategic execution.
You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, choose the right data sources, and communicate findings through effective data storytelling. A key part of the job is maintaining accurate reporting and making sure all outputs align with healthcare requirements and data integrity standards. The position is also intended to help build strong operational understanding, sharpen analytical capabilities, deepen KPI knowledge, and strengthen the ability to translate raw data into practical business intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and analyze healthcare, engineering, and operational data to support business decisions.
- Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations that highlight actionable trends and performance insights.
- Partner with stakeholders to define reporting needs and clarify analytical requirements.
- Select appropriate data sources and ensure the information used is relevant and reliable.
- Use data storytelling methods to present findings in a clear and understandable way.
- Support improvement efforts related to patient care, quality, operational effectiveness, and strategic performance.
- Maintain reporting accuracy and follow applicable healthcare regulations and data integrity standards.
- Develop a stronger understanding of operations, KPIs, and business intelligence practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Statistics, Industrial/Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0 to 2 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence.
- Working knowledge of SQL and Excel.
- Experience with at least one BI visualization platform such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy and data quality.
