Role Overview
This opportunity is offered on behalf of a partner employer that handles applications and all follow-up steps directly. The hire is for a Business Development Manager, Autonomy in Ireland.
The role combines commercial growth with advanced technology adoption in agriculture. You will connect customers, sales, marketing, and engineering teams, turning insights from the field into product enhancements and expansion plans. The position calls for direct customer interaction along with strategic business development, backed by a strong grasp of autonomy-enabling systems. You will run customer demonstrations, field events, and proof-of-concept trials that help speed up adoption and buying decisions. Working in a fast-moving environment, you will uncover new use cases and market opportunities while contributing to the future of autonomous agriculture solutions. This is a high-impact position that influences both revenue and product direction across international markets.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain an active sales pipeline and keep CRM records accurate for customer activity and opportunity tracking.
- Organize and lead customer-facing activities such as field days, product demos, evaluations, and proof-of-concept trials to advance sales opportunities.
- Provide practical training and technical support on autonomy and vision-based solutions for customers and channel partners.
- Spot emerging customer needs and new agricultural applications through close collaboration with customers and partners.
- Share structured field feedback with Marketing and Engineering teams to help guide product development and roadmap decisions.
- Create persuasive sales assets, including presentations, pitch decks, and executive-level communication materials.
- Assist account managers during the sales cycle by bringing technical knowledge and customer intelligence into discussions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or an equivalent level of hands-on technical experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in technical sales, field applications, market development, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
- Strong agricultural experience, preferably in broadacre, row crop, or permanent crop settings, with familiarity with channel or distribution models.
- Good working knowledge of autonomy-related technologies such as GNSS/INS, machine vision, ROS, CAN bus, or perception systems.
- Proven capability in delivering technical training, product demonstrations, and executive presentations.
- Strong English communication skills; additional European languages such as Dutch, German, French, or Nordic languages are considered an advantage.
- Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to juggle several customer engagements and prioritize effectively.
- A proactive, relationship-focused approach with the ability to earn trust and influence both technical and commercial stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% and the ability to work independently in a remote, field-based setup.
