Core responsibilities
- Own, organize, and continuously refine a technical product backlog for a high-impact clinical data platform, keeping it aligned with business strategy and regulatory deadlines.
- Turn clinical and business requirements into detailed technical, functional, and UI user stories along with clear acceptance criteria.
- Work with QA and engineering throughout system testing, user acceptance testing, and production-readiness activities.
- Prepare and maintain business requirement documents, process diagrams, and data mapping documentation.
- Serve as the main connector between customers, senior product leaders, senior product owners, and engineering teams.
- Lead Agile and Scrum practices, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives for technically detailed workstreams.
- Coordinate dependencies across products and teams so that data moves smoothly through core APIs, scheduling services, and third-party clinical endpoints.
Experience and technical expectations
The role requires 10 to 15 years of experience in a technical backend-focused environment. Strong API knowledge and solid backend understanding are essential. Hands-on use of AI tools or models to draft PRDs, BRDs, user stories, and related product artifacts is also required.
Communication and leadership expectations
The selected candidate should be able to explain complex backend debt and scaling needs to senior business stakeholders in a clear, confident way. Strong negotiation and prioritization abilities are needed, along with the judgment to manage the boundary between business intent and technical implementation in conversations with technical leads and architects.
Preferred background
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Health Informatics, or a related discipline is preferred. Prior experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner in clinical trials, healthcare, or other scientific/regulatory data environments is an advantage.
