Role Overview

Sundale is seeking a dependable Bus Driver for a permanent full-time position based on the Sunshine Coast. The role runs Monday to Friday and focuses on helping older Australians stay active, connected and involved in community life.

About the Position

In this role, you will safely transport residents to and from community outings, external activities and events. You will also assist residents when boarding and leaving the bus, help with seating, seatbelts and shopping when needed, and support the delivery of positive outing experiences.

Beyond driving, you will help keep the vehicle clean, safe and road-ready, complete log and maintenance records, and support recreation and care teams during organised outings when you are not behind the wheel.

Key Duties

  • Drive residents safely to and from outings, events and external activities.
  • Help residents get on and off the bus, including support with seating, seatbelts and shopping as required.
  • Maintain a warm, respectful and professional manner with residents, families, volunteers and colleagues.
  • Keep the bus clean, serviceable and prepared for use.
  • Carry out routine vehicle inspections and report faults or maintenance concerns without delay.
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logs, including servicing and maintenance records.
  • Assist recreation and care staff during planned outings and activities when driving is not required.
  • Contribute to the planning and research of future outings to improve resident experiences.
  • Follow road safety rules, Sundale policies, WHS expectations and manual handling procedures.
  • Work cooperatively with site managers, lifestyle teams, volunteers and other staff members.

Required Qualifications
