Role overview

Aramark Remote Workplace Services is recruiting Bakers for a remote lodge located near Geraldton, Ontario. In this role, you will prepare a range of baked products, including pastries, pies, cookies, squares, cakes, and other bakery items. You will also oversee the handling, preparation, production, and punctual delivery of high-volume baking while following established methods and quality standards. Prior experience in a remote camp setting or a commercial bakery is expected.

Job duties

• Prepare and bake a variety of foods based on production plans and standardized recipes.
• Arrange the workstation with all required ingredients, tools, and equipment before starting.
• Measure, weigh, mix, and chop ingredients as part of food preparation.
• Use bakery and kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, and mixers safely and correctly.
• Handle sharp tools and utensils, including knives, with care.
• Store food in line with food safety rules, procedures, and standards.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils to maintain hygiene.
• Provide strong customer service and maintain a positive, professional approach with guests, clients, customers, and teammates.
• Follow Aramark safety rules, including food safety and sanitation practices.
• Protect company property and ensure the security of assets.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working as a baker or in a similar position is preferred.
• Working knowledge of baking techniques, production standards, and food safety practices is required.
• Food safety certification must be obtained.
• Ability to perform basic math and counting is needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.

Additional requirements

This position may involve physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Uniforms and personal protective equipment may also be required. Before hiring, all selected candidates must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test as well as a criminal background check.
