This Assistant Support Worker position is based in Shannonbridge, County Offaly, Ireland, and follows the company salary scale.
What this role is about
You will support people using the service in a person-centred way, helping them build independence, participate in everyday life, and work toward their personal goals. The position is intended for someone who is caring, dependable, and motivated to grow while contributing to high-quality support.
Key duties
Day-to-day work will involve assisting individuals with routines, community participation, education, and the development of practical life skills. You will also help people maintain family and social connections, attend appointments, and manage activities that support their independence and wellbeing.
You will be expected to work in line with company policies, procedures, professional standards, and relevant regulations. The role also requires flexibility to cover shift patterns within a 24-hour, 7-day service.
Service user needs supported
The team supports individuals with a wide range of complex conditions and support requirements, including autism, Asperger syndrome, acquired brain injuries, challenging behaviour, intellectual disabilities combined with Alzheimer’s or dementia, mental health rehabilitation and recovery, and personality disorders.
Training and development
No formal qualification is needed for this opportunity. Full training, comprehensive induction, and ongoing development support will be provided so you can build your skills and confidence in the role.
Working pattern and other information
This is a full-time onsite role with shift work across a 7-day roster. The job specification notes that it is not an exhaustive list of duties, and you may be asked to complete additional tasks that are suitable to the position.
