Role Overview
This position is for an Assistant Manager in Civil Projects with Adani Power in Guwahati, Assam. The role focuses on managing civil engineering execution for power and energy infrastructure, with responsibility for planning, coordination, quality, cost, and stakeholder management across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed civil project plans covering site setup, foundations, structural work, and finishing activities, while keeping delivery on schedule and within budget.
- Serve as the main point of coordination among design teams, contractors, vendors, and internal teams so that scope, technical requirements, and timelines stay aligned.
- Apply strong quality checks through inspections and control processes, and ensure work follows applicable national and international standards, plus environmental and safety rules.
- Oversee site resources including labour, materials, and equipment to improve productivity and reduce waste.
- Track project spending, review budget differences, and share regular progress updates with senior leadership along with corrective recommendations when needed.
- Spot civil engineering risks at each stage of the project and put mitigation plans in place to avoid delays or disruption.
- Assist with procurement and contract administration, review contractor documents, and confirm that contractual commitments are fulfilled according to company policies.
- Guide and coach junior engineers and site personnel while promoting teamwork, learning, accountability, and ownership.
- Encourage sustainable building methods and practical innovations that improve outcomes and lower environmental impact.
- Engage with regulators, local communities, and other stakeholders to support smooth execution and responsible project delivery.
Education and Experience
A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university is required. A master’s degree is considered an advantage. The role calls for 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering project management, specifically within the power or energy sector.
Certifications Preferred
PMP certification or a similar project management credential is preferred. Additional qualifications in safety or quality management, such as ISO 9001 or ISO 14001, will be beneficial.
