Role overview
This position sits within financial management and planning, supporting clinical, non-clinical, and support service areas by producing accurate and timely financial data for monthly finance reporting.
The post is centred on a non-clinical area and involves close coordination around month-end reporting, budget monitoring, and financial analysis.
Key duties
- Work with the financial accounts team to resolve discrepancies and respond to queries.
- Keep the monitoring process up to date so reporting differences are kept to a minimum.
- Review variances and prepare summaries for the monthly business unit reporting pack.
- Create journals, recharges, and other adjustments to ensure financial statements remain accurate.
- Support the financial management team in budget holder meetings by preparing analysis and supporting information.
- Handle questions from budget holders and managers promptly and with limited supervision.
- Contribute to routine team activities during the month-end reporting cycle.
- Prepare monthly budget statements and finance reports, including analysis of trends and variances, in line with reporting deadlines.
- Manage production of area budget reports from the ledger, investigate plan variances, implement required changes, and keep to the monthly reporting timetable.
- Deliver a customer-focused service to the assigned area while maintaining a high level of support.
