Role overview

GovTech is hiring an Assistant Director for Programme Management in the Developer Productivity and Services (DPS) division. The position brings together two important programmes: one focused on improving how government engineers code and deploy, and another focused on creating a Central Product Marketplace for GovTech’s offerings.

The role requires someone who can keep both programmes aligned, turn strategy into practical plans, and ensure decisions, objectives, and delivery progress remain visible to leadership. A major part of the work involves building the supply side of the Central Product Marketplace by working with more than 45 platform product teams and supporting their integration onto the Console platform.

What you will do

• Oversee programme management across Developer Productivity and Developer Services with a focus on disciplined execution and meaningful outcomes.
• Translate strategy into action plans, OKRs, and trackable workstreams that keep teams accountable and moving forward.
• Maintain visibility across active initiatives and surface blockers or risks early so they can be addressed quickly.
• Lead structured engagement with senior stakeholders and help unlock decisions that teams cannot make on their own.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships across a wide network of product teams, especially for Console integration.
• Run the operating cadence for both programmes, including strategy reviews, OKR discussions, and workstream check-ins.
• Coach and support direct and indirect reports to strengthen team capability and performance.
• Guide a small programme support team covering procurement, finance, and admin, ensuring these functions stay aligned with programme priorities.
• Work closely with PMs, designers, engineers, and product operations to connect disciplines and improve communication.
• Prepare concise leadership updates and briefings that clearly describe status, risks, and decisions needed.
• Create and refine a repeatable engagement playbook to support ongoing Console onboarding efforts.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a programme manager who can help organisations operate effectively, not merely monitor tasks. The ideal candidate has 8 to 14 years of experience in programme or delivery management, preferably within technology, and has handled complex portfolios with multiple workstreams across varied teams.

You should be comfortable collaborating with PMs, designers, engineers, and product operations, and be able to work credibly across those disciplines. Strong stakeholder management, clear communication, and practical use of OKRs and performance frameworks are important. Confidence working in an AI-assisted environment and curiosity about technology trends will be an advantage. Experience with developer-facing platforms, government digital products, or large-scale platform adoption will also be useful.
