Architectural Technician

Overview

An established RIBA chartered practice with award-winning credentials is hiring an Architectural Technician for its York team. The business works across residential and commercial developments throughout the UK and is looking for someone with strong technical experience to contribute to a growing workload.

Reference: BM193. Location: York. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Salary: GBP 32,000 to GBP 38,000 per year.

What the role involves

• Contributing to projects from the earliest design stages through to final delivery.
• Producing building regulation documentation and preparing planning submissions.
• Carrying out site inspections and measured surveys to check technical compliance.
• Working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to maintain effective professional relationships.

Experience and technical profile

• A relevant qualification in Architectural Technology is required.
• The successful candidate should bring solid post-qualification experience as an Architectural Technician in a UK practice.
• Hands-on ability with AutoCAD and Revit is needed.
• Experience managing residential and commercial projects is important.
• A good understanding of UK building regulations is essential.
• Strong technical detailing capability is expected.
• Clear communication and good organisational skills are important.
• The role requires the applicant to live within a reasonable commuting distance of York.
