Role overview

This temporary Accounts Receivable Accountant role sits within the Non-Academic Administration department and reports to the Finance and Administration Manager. The position is focused on safeguarding the school’s financial control by keeping a close watch on the trial balance, managing receivables, supporting audit activity, and helping prepare month-end reporting for ISP ME.

Core responsibilities

  • Track and recover all overdue debtor balances.
  • Issue revenue invoices and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Apply the correct treatment for deferred income.
  • Process accounts receivable bank transactions.
  • Respond to and resolve parent queries related to receivables.
  • Perform debtor account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Generate and issue receipts for incoming payments.
  • Prepare credit notes and amend invoices when required.
  • Submit weekly deposits to G4S.
  • Share daily bank and cash balance updates internally and with the group.
  • Maintain the AR ageing schedule with updated commentary and current figures.
  • Prepare daily receipt reports for re-enrolments and new enrolments for Admissions.
  • Compile all month-end accounts receivable reports in line with the ISP timetable.
  • Work with external auditors on accounts receivable-related queries.
  • Draft reminders and demand letters for debtors.
  • Report daily and weekly cash positions to ISP.
  • Step in to support the accountant whenever needed.
