Overview
A respected company in Germany is hiring a dependable, detail-focused Accountant to strengthen its finance and accounting function. This role is based on-site across multiple German locations, and the work arrangement may be on-site or hybrid depending on business needs.
Compensation
The annual salary is between €50,000 and €80,000, with an additional bonus component based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Keep financial books accurate and up to date while following German accounting rules.
- Handle both payables and receivables workflows.
- Draft monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements.
- Match bank statements with ledger balances and resolve differences.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Work in line with German GAAP (HGB) and relevant tax requirements.
- Support audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants.
- Prepare VAT filings and other mandatory financial submissions.
- Track financial activity and investigate inconsistencies or unusual entries.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a similar discipline.
- Prior experience in roles such as Accountant, Financial Accountant, or Bookkeeper.
- Strong working knowledge of German accounting standards (HGB) and tax laws.
- Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as DATEV, SAP, or comparable systems.
- Strong analytical ability, organization, and attention to detail.
- Capability to manage several tasks at once and work to deadlines.
- Fluent German is mandatory; English skills are an added advantage.
- Professional qualifications such as Bilanzbuchhalter are considered a plus.
