The SME & Growth Business team works with small and medium-sized businesses to help them succeed in international markets. The team combines financial knowledge with a growth-oriented mindset to create tailored solutions that improve cross-border payments and open up new revenue opportunities for customers.
Role overview
This position is focused on expanding Airwallex’s presence in Singapore’s education sector. The role covers private education providers, international schools, enrichment chains, student recruitment agencies, tuition centres, and other cross-border education businesses. The selected candidate will use a consultative sales approach to identify opportunities, develop relationships, and close new business while helping customers improve financial operations.
Key responsibilities
- Build new relationships or use existing connections across Singapore’s education ecosystem, including international schools, private education institutions, recruitment partners, and training providers.
- Spot high-potential prospects and create lead-generation approaches that support revenue growth.
- Design and execute sales plans that can be scaled for consistent acquisition of new customers.
- Understand prospect challenges and guide them to suitable solutions while managing the complete sales journey from first contact to deal closure.
- Handle commercial negotiations aimed at increasing customer value and revenue.
- Partner with Account Managers and SDRs to strengthen acquisition efforts and grow market share in the territory.
- Support smooth onboarding and a strong customer experience for new clients, working across functions to resolve issues and improve the product.
- Keep CRM records updated with information about existing and potential customers.
What we are looking for
Applicants should have at least 3 years of sales experience, ideally with complex products and a strong record of performance. The ideal candidate will be able to sell into the education segment, identify and influence stakeholders from finance managers to CEOs, and communicate clearly in presentations and discussions. The role also calls for someone who can manage multi-product negotiations, work effectively in uncertain and fast-moving settings, and show a strong interest in technology and financial services. A highly driven attitude and willingness to go the extra mile are important.
Preferred background
It is an advantage to have experience in a fast-paced startup or payments business. Prior exposure to education institutions, student recruitment networks, enrichment or tuition chains, or EdTech platforms is also useful. Existing relationships within Singapore’s education ecosystem will be considered a strong plus.
