Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a results-driven Video Editor in Eastern Ontario. The role is suited to someone who goes beyond simple cutting and trimming and instead thinks like a visual storyteller. The editor will create high-retention short-form content, use performance data to improve creative decisions, and help raise the overall standard of a fast-moving media team. The environment is energetic, demanding, and collaborative, with a strong focus on producing standout creative work at scale.
Responsibilities
- Produce engaging video edits that reflect the authentic energy and work ethic of trades-focused businesses.
- Build short-form content aimed at immediate viewer attention and strong retention.
- Review performance data to improve pacing, opening hooks, and audio selections based on what the audience responds to.
- Handle post-production for both video and photo work while keeping delivery fast and brand visuals consistent.
- Work closely with two other editors to participate in creative sessions and continuously improve the quality of output.
- Coordinate with account managers and designers to create effective assets for social platforms and paid campaigns.
- Maintain a production pace of 5 to 10 videos each day without reducing creative quality.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in video and photo production, preferably within an agency environment.
- Demonstrated success in creating content that earns organic reach and understanding how platforms such as TikTok, Reels, and Shorts operate.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and the wider Adobe Creative Cloud, including Lightroom.
- Strong analytical ability with familiarity in watch time, click-through rate, and hook-based content psychology.
- Leadership potential, plus a collaborative mindset for supporting and mentoring other creative teammates.
- Interest in or connection to the blue-collar and trades space.
- Good organizational habits and experience using Google Workspace for file handling and project coordination.
