- Ensure the vessel maintenance system is used and reported in line with company standards and procedures.
- Take responsibility for the technical budget of the assigned vessels.

- Work closely with Vessel Masters and Chief Engineers, offering technical guidance and support whenever required.
- Identify and arrange technical and operational supplies for the vessels while securing the most economical rates.
- Coordinate and supervise service repairs through approved subcontractors, ensuring work is finished promptly, satisfactorily, and within budget.
- Prepare detailed dry-dock specifications and oversee dry-docking and repair activities through to completion, including at remote locations if necessary.
- Coordinate with yard management, subcontractors, Class, and Administration so that all work follows approved specifications and schedules.
- Provide written updates and reports covering in-service repairs, dry-docking work, surveys, and costs.
- Keep all repair- and docking-related information updated in the PMS system.
- Handle technical and operational discussions with customers, including matters related to vessel performance.
- Work with the Purchasing team to track and expedite purchase requests; escalate delays that could affect vessel capability and ensure minimum spares are maintained.
- Review logs and processes each month, carry out vessel inspections, and submit the required reports.
- Maintain and update the vessel technical library, including ship plans and drawings.
- Ensure IMCA guidelines and accepted industry best practices are followed at all times.
- Support tender preparation by helping define costs, budgets, and schedules, and participate in bid and tender evaluations.
- Contribute to the appraisal and selection of repair yards and technical service providers.
- Carry out end-of-contract appraisals for Chief Engineers assigned to the vessel.
- Keep technical knowledge current through training and self-development.
- Take on other technical assignments as required.
- Participate in annual reviews, assess project outcomes, identify improvements, and present findings and reports.
Qualifications
- An unlimited STCW ’95 Chief Engineer’s license (Motor) for sea-going vessels, or
- An engineering degree or diploma in mechanics or electromechanical engineering.
