Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Doha, Qatar is for a Senior Oracle APEX Developer and Oracle Database Administrator (DBA). The selected professional will create, enhance, and support Oracle APEX applications, including interfaces, workflow logic, and integrations with enterprise systems. The role also covers Oracle database administration tasks such as installation, setup, backups, recovery, tuning, security, and ongoing monitoring. In addition, the person will work on data models, ETL support, report development, SDLC activities, stakeholder coordination, and technical issue resolution while mentoring others on Oracle and APEX best practices.

Oracle APEX Development

• Architect, build, and roll out Oracle APEX applications from concept to production.
• Write advanced PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and other database objects.
• Create modern, responsive dashboards, web applications, and reporting interfaces.
• Connect APEX solutions to external platforms through REST and SOAP services.
• Improve query performance and overall application responsiveness.
• Handle feature upgrades, debugging, and defect resolution for live applications.
• Design solutions that remain secure, scalable, and easy to maintain.

Database Administration

• Install, configure, patch, monitor, and maintain Oracle database environments.
• Oversee RMAN backups, Data Guard setups, disaster recovery, and database security controls.
• Investigate and resolve database performance and stability issues.
• Support high availability and ensure data integrity across systems.

Project Collaboration

• Take part in requirement discussions, technical design, development, and deployment work.
• Prepare clear technical documentation and assist with production releases.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver solutions.
• Support ETL activities and help align data movement with business needs.
• Mentor teammates and share Oracle and APEX development standards.

Qualifications

• Active Oracle APEX and Oracle DBA certifications are mandatory.
• Solid background in databases and data modeling, with experience building and maintaining relational structures.
• At least 5 years of Oracle APEX development experience, along with strong hands-on knowledge of Oracle development tools such as Oracle APEX and Oracle Reports.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web services, third-party integrations, and Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS).
• Experience using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and responsive development techniques.
• Practical exposure to ETL workflows, including extraction, transformation, and loading between systems.
• Well-rounded software development experience, including coding practices, version control, testing, and deployment in an Oracle-focused environment.
• Proficiency in Oracle database administration covering tuning, backup and recovery, security, and high availability.
• Ability to analyze requirements, recommend technical approaches, and communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; additional Oracle certifications are considered beneficial.
• Several years of senior-level experience in Oracle APEX development and Oracle DBA responsibilities, preferably in enterprise or mission-critical settings.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to work on-site in Doha as part of a collaborative team.
